Michael M. Fahmy

Michael believes that everyone can benefit from counseling and aims to meet each person wherever they are, regardless of age, gender, culture, ethnicity, or religious affiliation. Finding the right therapist can feel intimidating; everyone can feel challenged or overwhelmed by life events and experiences. Michael is prepared to help you sort through the chaos, confusion, and pain to get to the root of these issues toward healing. Michael aims to walk with the individuals he meets on their unique journey. He strives to create a space to help individuals feel safe and comfortable being themselves. As a counselor, Michael seeks to promote individuals’ well-being while helping them grow and heal.

Michael immigrated to the United States from Egypt as a young adult. He is fluent in both English and Arabic. Michael greatly understands the struggles of being a multicultural individual and is empathetic to the challenges of people who are dealing with similar transitions. He has volunteered and worked in fourteen countries in the past decade. Michael spent years in African countries working as an HIV counselor, which is what drove him to pursue counseling and help carry others’ burdens. In his work in the nonprofit world, Michael has prepared counseling materials for widows and children who have lost their fathers; these materials focused on emotional resilience, addiction, grieving, and more. Michael has a passion for working with young adults, adults, and couples and supporting them through various issues including parent-child relationships, couple’s issues, anxiety, depression, life transitions, spiritual issues, multicultural issues, generational issues, and relational trauma.

Since every person is a unique and multifaceted individual, Michael strives to take a holistic and integrative approach to tailor therapy to the needs of each client. He believes in therapy as a collaboration between the client and himself. He uses various evidence-based techniques.
