He is also experienced in addiction-focused treatment and family support groups like Al-Anon and the Fairfax County Community Services Board. Andy is also comfortable incorporating the care of other providers, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists, to ensure the highest level of effective treatment for clients.

Andy takes an integrated cognitive behavioral and person-centered approach to therapy. Using evidenced-based techniques and guided discovery to help his clients understand how their feelings, thoughts, and actions interact, Andy guides them toward an ongoing process of personal growth through change. His focus is on working together to establish a healthy counselor-client rapport to help each client set goals and assist them in developing the life skills necessary to maintain healthy relationships.

Andy’s philosophy is that we must learn to adapt to the expected and unexpected changes in life. His passion as a counselor is to provide empathetic and caring support for those suffering from the trials of life or dealing with mental illness and its impact on the family. Andy’s experience includes premarital counseling, working with adolescents, marital therapy, and assisting in the care of elderly parents.

Currently, Andy offers counseling to men, women, and couples. The following are some of his areas of concentration: men’s issues, parenting issues, anxiety, depression, marital issues, codependency issues, life transitions, relationship issues, emotional healing, and spiritual issues.
